CGISA CEO Stephen Sadie recently participated in a panel discussion hosted by fellow institute, the Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute in Zimbabwe, providing an opportunity to engage with governance professionals from across the region.

The engagement formed part of CGISA’s commitment to strengthening relationships with fellow governance institutes and encouraging greater collaboration across borders.
While individual countries operate within their own legislative, economic and social environments, many of the governance challenges facing organisations and governance professionals are shared. Regional engagements provide an important platform to exchange experiences, discuss common challenges and share best practice.
They also provide an opportunity for institutes to learn from one another and consider how governance principles and practices are evolving within different jurisdictions.

For CGISA, this collaboration is an important part of building a stronger and more connected governance profession. By strengthening relationships between institutes and creating opportunities for continued dialogue, the profession can work towards fostering a more unified governance position across the region while recognising the different contexts in which governance professionals operate.
Participation in engagements such as the panel discussion at the Zimbabwe conference also enables CGISA to contribute its Southern African experience to broader governance conversations while bringing valuable insights and perspectives back to its members, students and wider stakeholder community.
Through continued collaboration, knowledge-sharing and the exchange of best practice, fellow institutes across the region can collectively contribute to strengthening the profession and advancing good governance.
