Exemptions

Have you completed or part completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or diploma? You may be eligible for exemption from several of our NQF 5-8 modules.

Exemption is at the sole discretion of the board of directors of the Institute. Where a successful application is made, the exemption granted remains valid for one year from notification by the Institute, after which the exemption will expire. Put simply, students must enrol for the relevant examination/s within one year of the exemption having been granted. Failure to do so will require a second application and an exemption fee.

National Qualifications from NQF level 5 upwards could qualify students for exemption from certain subjects. Foreign qualifications may also qualify students for exemption – SAQA certificates of evaluation may be required to establish equivalent NQF levels in this instance. Only in very limited cases where extensive relevant work experience is evident will short courses qualify students for exemption.
