CGISA CEO Stephen Sadie recently attended the inaugural CGI Global Governance Summit in Malaysia, which brought together 800 delegates in person and a further 700 participants online.
Stephen participated in a panel discussion titled “Malaysia’s Corporate Governance Framework in a Global Context”, alongside fellow panellists Azrina Azmel (General Manager, Corporate Governance, Securities Commission, Malaysia), Mohamad Azhar Mohamed Hamidi (Head of Corporate Surveillance and Governance, Bursa Malaysia Berhad) and Mark Babington (Executive Director: Regulatory Standards, Reporting Council, United Kingdom).
During the discussion, Stephen shared insights into King V as a governance framework, exploring its principles and application within the broader international governance context. His contribution provided a Southern African perspective to the global conversation and highlighted the value of exchanging governance practices and experiences across jurisdictions.
Stephen was joined at the event by Elsabe Kirsten, Southern African representative at CGI Global and Dorette van Deventer, member of the CGISA technical committee.
CGISA was well represented at the Summit, reinforcing Southern Africa’s important voice within the global governance profession and providing an opportunity to engage with governance leaders and professionals from around the world.
