16th Premier Corporate Governance Conference

16th Premier Corporate Governance Conference

Since its inception in 2009, the conference has been a leading event in Southern Africa. It offers attendees up-to-date information, interactive sessions, and insights from industry experts.

This year, we explore the theme “Fault lines and futures: Corporate governance at the crossroads.” As organisations navigate an increasingly complex landscape, governance professionals must recognise the warning signs beneath the surface while charting a path towards resilience and sustainable success. From the intersection of AI and human judgement, economic uncertainty and whistleblower protection to municipal governance, failing infrastructure, water security and the introduction of governance frameworks as a stabilising foundation, the conference will examine the critical choices shaping the future of governance in Southern Africa.

Master of Ceremonies

Ayanda Nyathi

Ayanda is a Johannesburg-based broadcast journalist who’s spent the better part of a decade telling South Africa’s stories — from moments of national mourning to times of upheaval and democratic milestones. He’s reported on events that have shaped the country’s recent history, including the passing of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, the July 2021 unrest, and the 7th democratic elections.

Ayanda’s journey in media began behind the scenes as a producer at Cape Talk in Cape Town. But it wasn’t long before he found his voice on air — first as a reporter for Eyewitness News on 702, and later as a co-host on Newzroom Afrika’s breakfast show. For three years, he brought viewers face-to-face with the people shaping the region, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, Reserve Bank Governor Lesetja Kganyago, and the late Namibian President Hage Geingob.

Today, Ayanda anchors The Agenda on SABC News and leads the weekday afternoon news desk at Kaya 959. For him, journalism isn’t just a job — it’s a way of connecting with South Africans, holding power to account, and making sense of the world we live in.
